Plan Ahead
Ok, now you have made your decision on your occasion, what is the next step? Here are some key points to keep in mind when planning your Video Album.
|
1. How many pictures will you need for each photo? An average time that a picture is
displayed is 5-8 seconds. For faster music your display time will be around 5-6. We set your
pictures to the beat of the music. (timing not available with Photo Montages) The faster the
music, the more pictures you may need.
2. Choose pictures that show emotion and action to help tell your story. Close up shots are
better than far away shots, unless you want to show a background as a focal point. (please put
this in your instructions.) If you are doing a birthday celebration for an adult look on our
Sample Video page under 100 Years for more ideas on how to place your photos. Try not to
use too many of the same types of photos. Use different poses, the more the better.
3. If you are sending paper photos please place them in the order of appearance and put
them in groups by song. Do not write on the back of the picture. Place a sticker with a number
on the back and place them in a zip lock bag marked with the song selection. If photos are not
marked we will place them in the show in the order that we receive them.
4. Don't have a scanner and you don't want to send your photos in the mail? You can go to
any Kinko's, Wal-Mart or similar business to scan your photos to a disc that you can send in
the mail. Do not scan your pictures into shapes. If you want a certain shape, we can cut it in
our photo lab program. Scan at 300 dpi or higher. Check each picture to make sure it has
been scanned and that it is clear.
5. Sending photos by CD or email, place the photos in order of appearance and by song
order. Also save the pictures by number and make a folder for each song. For example;
001,002 in song folder "Over the Rainbow". Keep in mind that some email service providers
put a limit on how big a file you can transfer.
6. Captions and special instructions. Do not write on the back of the photos. Either send your
instructions and Captions by email or a typewritten paper labeling the number of the photo, the
song it is in and then the caption or instruction.
7. Music is just as important as your photos. Choose music that says what you want it say.
Everyone has their special song for their wedding or a song they remembered when they were
a teenager. (perfect for someone who is turning 29 for the 11th time). Keep in mind that you
must purchase the music or I can not include it in your show.See FAQ's.
8. We will send you to our site to view your draft. Any mistakes on our part will be free of
charge. Changes you want to make at this time will be at an additional charge. Timing will be
affected and is time consuming.
